Window Energy Ratings – Meeting the Requirements

The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC)The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) rates windows by looking at total energy balance and not one single factor. The total energy efficiency of a window is calculated by a sum of the three main heat transfer mechanisms, as detailed below;

The U Value:
Solar Heat Gain: Air Infiltration

These three components are given individual values, which are scaled by two constants to reflect their importance for the UK climate and the average UK house and then are combined to give the BFRC rating.

HIGH PERFORMANCE WINDOWS

Energy WindowReplacing old windows with new double glazing will improve thermal efficiency of your home – but not all double glazed windows are the same.

Fersina’s New High Performance windows are different. By combining advanced glass and frame technology they can cut a great deal of the heat loss from your home.

Much of your home’s heat loss is through the windows, so with high fuel costs it makes sense to fit the most energy efficient double glazing you can afford.

By choosing Fersina’s High Performance windows you can benefit from real savings on your fuel bills and reduce the impact on the world’s natural resources.

Only High Performance windows can display the Energy Efficiency logo. A new energy efficiency label, similar to that displayed on domestic appliances, makes it easy to see how ‘green’ a window is.
