If you are looking for a more traditional extension for your home, then a Sun Lounge or Orangery can offer an excellent alternative to a conservatory.
Orangeries were first constructed in the 17th century to allow the upper classes to grow and display fruits and plants. Today, the difference between an orangerie and conservatory is more one of design and construction. Whereas a conservatory roof will be completely glazed with glass or polycarbonate, an orangerie will generally have flat roof areas, with a glass infill.
